George Daniel is a naturally curious fly fisher-he loves traveling with his family and learning from the best anglers in the country. He has been a competitor and captain for FF Team USA as well as a coach for the US Youth Fly Fishing Team. He authored the best selling book, Dynamic Nymphing and his second book, Strip Set (a streamer book) was be released in September 2015. He guides near him come in central PA and travels the country with his wife conducting seminars on all aspects of trout fishing.
For years, George enjoyed drift boat trips at popular destinations and always wanted a watercraft to float his local waters, but was never happy with the available options. That was until he noticed a new boat concept at a fly fishing show called Flycraft. That introduction became a game changer for George-allowing him to fish rivers both small and large from his home in central PA to large western rivers. What makes so much financial sense to George is the fact he doesn’t have to upgrade his Subaru to larger pickup truck to tow a drift boat. Flycraft is easily and securely placed on top of his Subaru without the need for purchasing a larger vehicle or trailer.
Rich Strolis started as a guide on the ever popular Farmington River in Connecticut where he established his reputation for ten years. He later transitioned his work to commercial tying, speaking engagements and teaching many facets of both flyfishing and flytying. His fly patterns although based out of the Northeast have a strong following and relevancy across the globe and have been tied and fished by many as a result of his library of online videos.
He is a signature tier for the Montana Fly Company, which currently produces ten of his patterns, and his patterns have appeared in several national magazines and books, including Flyfisherman, Eastern Fly Fishing and many more. Well rounded fisherman describes him best, but when he’s not busy jotting notes for that next hot fly pattern you’ll most likely find him chasing anything from trout to northern pike with big meaty flies. Rich has spent the last year feverishly working on a book of his own, “Catching Shadows: Tying Flies for the Toughest Fish And Strategies For Fishing Them” by Stackpole Books due to hit the shelves January 1, 2016. You can see more of Rich’s videos or learn more about what he does at his website:
Lance Egan is arguably the best fly fisherman on the planet. From competitive fly fishing, to just getting out to have some fun, he truly is at the apex of the sport. Lance chooses the Flycraft for a lot of reasons but I think his favorite is how easy it is to take his son, Mikey, out for the day and put him on the fish. It’s truly an honor to have Lance on our boats.
Alex Lafkas has been a fly-fishing guide in Northern Michigan since 2000 and has been fly-fishing the Au Sable and Manistee Rivers for over 20 years. He has learned from the best anglers and guides on these rivers. He is extremely passionate about fly-fishing, guiding, and fly-tying. Alex’s college years took him to Montana where he spent days and nights fishing the Yellowstone, Beaverhead, Madison, and many other great rivers. There is no off season for Alex; he takes advantage of the extended seasons on both the Au Sable and Manistee Rivers. Years ago he began heading to Arkansas and fishing and guiding on the White and Norfork Rivers in the winter months. He introduced the guides and fishermen on the White River to the big streamer game, a technique which is now considered one of the most effective to target large browns on the Southern Tailwaters.
As an instructor, Alex is very patient and willing to share his vast knowledge of trout and the rivers with clients. Alex is a member of the Sage Elite Staff, is an Ambassador Guide for Simms Fishing Products and a member of the FlyCraft Pro Staff.
