After announcing our new Stealth 2.0 and Stealth X, we've been getting a lot of questions about which boat is the best fit for you. The short answer: It depends on your specific fishing preferences, the waters you fish, and who you want to bring along in your boat.
So we created a simple Flycraft cheat for you below to help you decide which Flycraft model is best for you:
The Flycraft Stealth 2.0 (11.5' long 51" wide) is best for you if:
- You typically only fish solo or with one other person. If there is a 3rd person it's a child under 100 lbs.
- You want a lightweight yet stable fishing boat. At 51" wide the Stealth 2.0 is 5" wider than our classic Stealth.
- You want a self bailing boat. Let's face it, water always finds its way in the boat whether its rapids, rain, wet wading boots etc. With the Stealth 2.0 you don't need to worry about it, it drains out on its own.
- You want a lean bar/casting brace in the fishermen's seat. Our 2.0 Pro Package includes our new lean bar system for the front of the boat.
- You need a boat that breaks down easily and compact for transport in the trunk of a car, RV or can be stored in an apartment.
- You don't want to pull a trailer. This boat can easily be transported assembled on the roof racks of a car of bed of truck.
- You fish alone often and need a boat that's easy to get on and off your vehicle and to the water by yourself.
- At just 103 lbs this boat is about as easy as it gets to move around: whether transporting alone, launching where there is no boat ramp or portaging around that fallen tree.
- You may find yourself running rivers with up to class II rapids.
- You want to use a small gas or electric motor (up 30 lbs)
- You fish big drift boat style rivers, small streams, lakes, ponds, and maybe even the ocean.
- You fish rivers and streams with shallow riffles - this boat has just a 3" draft.
- You want a boat for day trips but also overnight camping excursions with extra gear.
- You like to bring your dog with you.
